Sustainable Development Roadmap

Report P.15

Shannung Foods has established a Sustainable Development Roadmap extending to 2040, with three strategic pillars: "Net-Zero Emissions, Circular Economy, and Shared Prosperity through Integrity." It will progressively advance climate action, resource circularity, and social inclusion goals in phases, and disclose specific progress annually in its Sustainability Report.

Short-term Goal (2025): Achieve 100% recyclable or reusable packaging for major consumer products (current status 87%); launch Scope 3 supply chain carbon emission reduction roadmap; expand contract carbon reduction farms to 20 demonstration sites; maintain zero major incident records for food safety management systems across all plants.

Mid-term Goal (2026-2030): By 2026, rainwater harvesting system utilization rate reaches 8% of total water consumption, and contract carbon reduction farms expand to 50, collectively reducing Scope 3 agricultural emissions by approximately 5,200 metric tons of CO₂e; by 2030, the target for renewable energy usage proportion increases to over 60%, and all core suppliers complete the signing of the Sustainable Code of Conduct.

Long-term Goal: Complete 100% renewable energy procurement before 2035 and officially achieve the RE100 commitment; achieve carbon neutrality in corporate operations by 2040, and continue to deepen the sustainable transformation of the agricultural supply chain, establishing a benchmark for net-zero transformation in Taiwan's food industry.

To ensure the roadmap's execution, the company has established an "ESG and Sustainability Committee" under the Board of Directors, chaired by an independent director. It reviews the progress of key performance indicators (KPIs) quarterly and incorporates a 20% weighting of the sustainable roadmap's execution performance into the annual performance evaluations of the General Manager and first-tier executives. From 2024 to 2026, cumulative capital expenditure related to sustainable transformation reached NT$680 million, covering three major items: renewable energy infrastructure, wastewater recycling system upgrades, and supply chain carbon inventory system development.
