Shannung Foods announced its goal to achieve 100% renewable electricity for factory operations by 2035 and signed the RE100 commitment letter.

Shannung Foods announced today its official joining of the RE100 global renewable energy initiative, committing to use 100% renewable energy across all its Taiwan production sites by 2035. This year, rooftop solar panels have been installed at its three factory sites in Central Taiwan (Changhua, Taichung, Nantou), with a total installed capacity of 4.8 MW. This is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by 2,650 metric tons of CO₂e annually, equivalent to planting 120,000 trees. The company also signed a 10-year green power purchase agreement with Taipower, actively advancing its net-zero transition pathway.

Agricultural Waste Recycling Program received the "Circular Economy Benchmark Enterprise" honor from the Ministry of Environment.

The Ministry of Environment announced this year's list of "Circular Economy Benchmark Enterprises," and Shannung Foods was selected for its innovative model of transforming agricultural by-products such as soybean dregs and bagasse into biomass fuel, animal feed, and organic compost. In 2024, a total of 12,847 metric tons of agricultural waste were recycled, reducing the waste landfill rate to 0.8% and achieving a near-zero waste target. The company stated that related technologies have applied for two invention patents and are expected to be licensed to the Southeast Asian market by the end of 2025.

Water Resource Management Breakthrough: Taichung Plant's Wastewater Recycling Rate Reaches 97.3%, Setting a New Record for Taiwan's Food Industry.

Shannung Foods' Taichung flagship plant completed the third phase of its wastewater recycling system upgrade this year. Through reverse osmosis membrane technology and activated carbon filtration processes, the wastewater recovery and reuse rate reached 97.3%, setting a new record for Taiwan's food manufacturing industry. Approximately 680 metric tons of water can be saved daily, amounting to 247,200 metric tons saved annually, which is equivalent to the monthly water consumption of approximately 25,000 households in Taichung City. This achievement has passed SGS third-party water resource audit certification.
